xvidcap 은 M$ 윈도우기반의 camtasia or screencam과 같은 상업용툴처럼
리눅스 XFree86 Desktop 환경에서 frame 또는 mpeg video로 Xwindows 화면에
나타나는 화면을 캡쳐하는 프로그램이다.

xvidcap : A desktop video screen capture application.
xvidcap, a small tool to capture things going on on an X-Windows display to either
individual frames or an MPEG video. On Windows machines there are commercial
tools like Lotus ScreenCam or Camtasia which do a very good job esp.
for the purpose I was needing such a tool for: Software documentation, esp.
installation procedures and such.

 

■ 2. Installation

2.2 YUM 설치하기
f11-invain#> yum install xvidcap

2.1 소스 설치하기
f11-invain#> wget http://jaist.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/xvidcap/xvidcap-1.1.4p1.tar.gz
f11-invain#> tar xvzf xvidcap-1.1.4p1.tar.gz
f11-invain#> cd xvidcap-1.1.4p1
f11-invain#> ./configure --prefix=/usr/local/xvidcap
f11-invain#> make
f11-invain#> make install
f11-invain#> /usr/local/xvidcap/bin/xvidcap
f11-invain#> file test-0000.mpeg
test-0000.mpeg: RIFF (little-endian) data, AVI, 340 x 422, 10.00 fps, video:,
audio: (mono, 22050 Hz)

 

■ 3. 동영상 캡쳐 파일 기본 포맷 정보

기본적으로 만들어지는 동영상 캡쳐 파일은 아래의 기본포맷으로 생성되며,
xvidcap 명령을 실행한 디렉토리에 "test-0000.mpeg" 파일명으로 저장된다.
- Video Format: General AVI File(DIVX default)
- Video Codec : MPEG4 ( FMP4 - ffdshow Video Decoder )
- Audio Codec : MP2
- Frame Rate  : 10.000

■ 4. 녹화하려고 하는 비디오 파일의 Video Codec 지정
윈도우에서의 비디오 포맷의 변환을 원활하게 하기 위해 비디오 코첵을 MS_DIV2을
선택할 것을 권장한다. 만약 웹브라우저를 이용하여 동영상을 플레이하고자 하는 경우
Flash (SWF) 포맷으로의 저장도 가능하다.

"File" - "Preferences" 을 클릭한후에 FileName (../instruct-video2.mpeg )을 정하고,
Video Codec(MPEG1/MPEG/MPEG4/MS_DIV2/MS_DIV3/FLASH_VIDEO)를 선택하도록 한다.

■ 5.  Video file Convertor
리눅스에서 만든 동영상 파일은 FMP4 포맷으로 되어 있어서, 윈도우에서 플레이를
하려면 MPEG4(FMP4)을 지원하는 통합 코덱을 설치해야만 한다. 그래서 아래의
프로그램을 이용하여 보편적으로 많이 사용하는 avi or divx 포맷으로 변환할수 있다.

Unix open-source video and audio processing tools, including ffmpeg, mpeg2enc,
and mencoder (the MPEG-4 encoder with subtitles support).

* navi2divx and mpeg2divx  (http://www.emulinks.de/divx/)
A tool to convert AVIs/MPEGs to DivX AVIs. avi2divx and mpeg2divx are able to
convert AVI and MPEG videos to AVIs with DivX video and MP3 audio.

* PlayStation Portable Video Converter (PSPVC) ( http://pspvc.sourceforge.net )
PlayStation Portable Video Converter (PSPVC) is a FFMPEG front-end for converting
video files for the PSP. It allow you to queue severals conversions with different
parameters for each. It supports MPEG4/SP (all firmware) and H264/AVC (firmware 2.0+).
